Are you staying in Radford for spring break? Perhaps
you're just going home. Nothing spectacular to do for spring break, plain and
simple? Maybe you should try and get some work done. I know it seems like work
is a four letter work during this week of from classes, but doing something
productive will give you a feeling of accomplishment. And you'll have much more
to show for your time than a hangover and a sunburn.
- Catch up on school work. I know it's spring break and
the last thing you want to do is school work. But if you do it now, you'll have
less to do later on.
- Start up-coming projects. Again,
school work is a drag. But starting projects early means while your classmates
are in a frenzy trying to slap together something you'll either already be
finished or can finish at a leisurely pace, which is always nice.
- Summer job or internship hunting. Work is a necessary
evil, so you might as well hammer out what you're doing for the summer while
you have some spare time. It's easier to do it now than during the first few
weeks of summer when everyone is competing for a space.
- Organize or clean something. While you have the time you
might as well clear some of the clutter from your life. Clean your room or go
through your closet and find things you don't wear anymore and donate them. The
less clutter in your life the better you'll feel, period.
- Donate your time. There are plenty of organizations and
charities out there driven by the help of volunteers. Find out what's going on
around you and see what you can do to help. There's nothing better than
spending your time to make a difference in the world.
These are just a few things you can do to kill time over break if you're not
heading somewhere exotic. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy your week off. It's
the last one you get until finals.
