Matt's Top Ten
Matt Witherow | Graphics Team
Welcome to the 2002-2003 football season. Whim
sports has compiled a group of our own columnists to pick the top 10 NFL
Teams and College Football teams every week.
TOP NFL TEAMS
Week 4
1. New England Patriots - Priest Holmes ran all over the Pats, KC played a hell of a game but couldn't pull off the victory. I hate those 3 point wins in OT. Still, New England deserves to be on top. 2. Oakland Raiders - Had a bye this week. The Titans are in their forecast but shouldn't be a problem. How about that Bo Jackson free advertising on the MNF halftime show. Bo knows you gotta love Bo. 3. Denver Broncos - They are heading to Balto this week. I hate to say it, but I don't think the Ravens have what it takes. AFC north...blah. 4. Miami Dolphins - Ricky was running; Fiedler was passing; Jets were losing (for the first time to Miami in 4 years). Looking good. 5. Carolina Panthers - I don't think it's that hard for anyone to beat the Vikings these days. What is up with Randy Moss? Carolina beats Green Bay this week and it's on. 6. New Orleans Saints - They battled this week and got past the Bears D. Aaron Brooks is the man; 4 TD's; I wish I had him on my fantasy team. 7. San Deigo Chargers - They look just like the Chargers of last year. Maybe this year they will be for real. The test is this week against New England. 8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - They just gave up a touchdown to the Rams, even with Marshall out of the game. Can the Bucs hold on for the win? Let's see if they will let Vick run over them in 2 weeks. Nevermind, INT Bucs win. 9. Atlanta Falcons - From here it is all uphill. Well, maybe not. Tampa Bay in 2 weeks and aside from that they have their work cut out for them. 10. Chicago Bears - Their defense didn't prevail and gave up a 20 point lead. That's gotta hurt the soul. They will have to stop Bledsoe next week.
Top 10 College Teams- Week 6 1. Miami - They laughed at Boston College and they will giggle at UConn too. 2. Texas - Play Oklahoma in a couple weeks; We will see who really deserves #2 then. 3. Oklahoma - Well like I said, not too much will change until October 12th. 4. Virginia Tech - Well, to some people they proved that their D was no joke; the Aggies have nasty D too. Look for the "Untouchables" to share 4 TD's this week. 5. Florida State - The Seminoles play Louisville this week. Duke didn't make it too interesting this weekend. 6. Ohio State - LUCKY. 7. Notre Dame - They will go undefeated this year. Florida State will be tough but they will win. Watch out. 8. Penn State - These guys are coming off of the Nebraska win, they stomped on Louisiana Tech. Iowa next week (3-1) might be a battle. 9. Florida - Rex is back, back again. 10. Georgia - Like I said, in two weeks a lot is going down. Look for Tennessee to get some back on these Dogs. Florida after that.
