Jarrett's Top Ten
Jarrett Hairston | Staff Writer
Welcome to the 2002-2003 football season. Whim's
sports section has compiled a group of our own columnists to pick the top 10 NFL
Teams and College Football teams every week.
Top College Teams
Week 11 1. Miami Hurricanes - They struggled with West Virginia early before
blowing the game open with a 40-23 win. This week, the Hurricanes play
Rutgers and their strength of schedule will drop. 2. Oklahoma Soonners - The Sooners were idle this passt week. They
demolished then 13th-ranked Iowa State 49-3 on Oct 19. They have two tough
games coming up against Colorado and the Texas A&M Aggies. 3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - ND is playing as good as anybody in the
country right now. Tyrone Willingham has done an OUTSTANDING job in South
Bend. 4. Virginia Tech Hokies - Virginia Tech got by Temple last week, 20-10.
Everyone is counting them out right now and that's a good thing because they
play their best football as the "underdog." Boy, I feel sorry for
Pittsburgh this week. Lane Stadium... at NIGHT! 5. Ohio State Buckeyes - Maurice Clarett was injured in the first quarter
against Penn State last week. Hopefully, he will be back this week to play
against Minnesota. 6. Georgia Bulldogs - The Bulldogs play at the "Swamp" this week. The
Gators aren't playing well, but the Bulldogs still need to bring their A
game to win this one. 7. Texas Longhorns - The Longhorns beat Iowa State last week. I don't think
the Longhorns will get into a BCS bowl. 8. Iowa Hawkeyes - The Hawkeyes seem to get better every week. 9. N.C. State Wolfpack - They will not get any respect until they beat
Florida State. It would be a shame for them to go undefeated and not get
into a BCS bowl just because they are not a "name" school. 10. Washington State Cougars - Washington State plays the ASU Wildcats this
week. I think the Wildcats will win this game going away.
