Schooling Spurrier
  Emmanuel Jackson | Staff Writer

After watching the Redskins the first eight weeks and especially the last two weeks, its no surprise what the Redskins need to do in order to win. Run the damn ball!  I am not going to get on the defense because that side of the ball has definitely come together.  It's disappointing to see a very promising season turn into a drawing board session.  In the NFL, teams are supposed to win immediately.  There is no waiting around for next season or for the number one pick.  With salary cap issues and injuries the only way you can win is by recognizing the personnel you have.  If your passing game lacks because you have a weatherman as your starting quarterback, don't throw the ball more then you have to.  If you have a running game and the defense you're facing is next to dead last in the league at stopping the run.  Hmmm, do I make myself clear?

If Steve Spurrier hasn't recognized this and continues to keep his egotistical passing game, he will not be a fan favorite in Washington this Christmas.  I don't care how many games you've won in any of those other leagues.  The National Football League is unique when it comes to coaching players and choosing the right personnel to guide your players.  If you don't have the personnel to execute your offense, use what talent you do have.  Knowing what you got and knowing how to use it is a simple theory and can be applied to football.

Let's see if Spurrier and his sputtering offense will change up again and honor the talent they have running the ball.  Get rid of your ego sir, and "just win baby".  Take a look at the Rams and there issues this season.  They do not have the personnel they once did to pass the ball down the field.  Who did they turn to when they had their version of the quarterback shuffle?  Marshall Faulk (NFL MVP), who did not become a critical part of the offense until they could no longer throw the ball down the field.  Washington has a running game whether it's Kenny Watson filling in for Stephen Davis, who will most likely be returning back from an injury.

In order for the Redskins to return to the playoffs they need to hand the ball off to Stephen Davis.  He's the franchise running back and he will definitely open up the passing game which already spreads the field.  I don't see the skins pulling off an upset against the New York Giants, who will be playing at home in front of some of the loudest fans.  I'm calling it 31-23 New York, in a game plagued with penalties and turnovers.

I can't say that I am sorry that the Redskins are playing the way they are. I am actually enjoying watching these clowns loose. I think that the writer of this article is precise in his comments and makes it very clear on the game or should I say the lack of game that the "Dead"skins are having. Excellent Report!!!!
