Just Kicking It

Boston's Kicked in the Head are back, and they want you to rock hard.

The new EP, "Salita" which drops on Nov. 5, is filled to the bursting point with energetic rock/punk tunes in the vein of The Foo Fighters and Fugazi. KITH, as they are known, first dropped onto the scene in 2001 with the well-received "Thick as Thieves" which put them on the CMJ charts and gained them some critical applause. This EP, the title of which means "rise" in Italian, signifies their ascension to a higher level of musical ability and success, according to the band.

The songs are all well-crafted, with sing-along choruses and impressive musicianship. KITH incorporates many different forms of punk rock, from the poppy to the hardcore into a blend which at times gives off an almost Faith No More vibe. Unfortunately, "Salita" is only a five-song EP with an added video for "Breakdown" off of their old album and a brief home video, but the five songs included are all stand-out tracks.
