Muggles, Beware...The Magic is Back

Those who have not yet seen the "Harry Potter" 2-DVD set are in for some surprises. There are deleted scenes and moving pictures of the characters. You can explore parts of Hogwart's such as Gryffindor's Common Room or the Great Hall, and you can even attend classes in the interactive section. You can do these things even if you are not using a PC DVD-ROM drive. If you are, you can also get owl messages, collect wizard cards, and be sorted. Sorting can be done by going to harrypotter.com without the DVD.

If you are using a DVD player, however, you have to go through some challenges to reach some of the special features. The first time I watched it, it took my brother and I a half hour and my copy of the first book to get to them. Once you reach them, though, it is definitely worth it, especially if you read the books. Most of the deleted scenes are word for word from the book. Did you ever wonder what happened to the rest of that potions class? It's on here.

But that was just the second disk. The first has the movie and its theatrical trailers.

The movie is as wonderful and as special effects-filled as ever. It's almost like watching it on the big screen again, except this time you don't have to sit next to the group of 10-year-olds who want to yell throughout the movie. Overall, it is definitely worth forking out the $19 or so to buy this DVD.
