Fall "Must See" Movies
Brandon Faust | Ritz Section Manager

The fall season is already here and have I got some movie recommendations for you! I label the following flicks as "must see," but that is only if they match your taste, of course. So sit back, put the scrollbar on cruise control (if only that were possible!), and check out what is in store for the big screen in the next few months.

Sweet Home Alabama
Yes, I know this is a chick flick. But guys, if you're trying to get a date, what better way, huh? Okay, so maybe not for some of you. There is a very romantic and funny plot however. Melanie Carmichael, played by Reese Witherspoon, is a New York fashion designer who finds herself falling back in love with her ex-husband in Alabama. It is a little harder to get those divorce papers signed than she thought!
Theatrical Release: Sept. 27

Red Dragon
Believe it or not, Hannibal Lecter is back! But the focus isn't entirely on him in this crime thriller -- he's just a source to help capture a serial killer, "Red Dragon." Edward Norton plays a FBI agent Will Graham (who was almost one of Hannibal's victims) has to go to Dr. Lecter for some kind advice.
Theatrical Release: Oct. 4

Formula 51
The almighty Samuel L. Jackson plays a bit of a different kind of role for this film. He plays as Elmo McElroy, a chemistry genius from the streets of America. A new designer drug that he has developed has everyone in the European market stoked and they want him now. His chaotic journey occurs in Liverpool where his plans don't go so smoothly.
Theatrical Release: Oct. 18

Jackass: The Movie
Whoever thought that MTV's "Jackass" show would ever make it on the big screen? I bet Johnny Knoxville and his crew could care less. If you have ever sat down and watched the show, I am sure you would know exactly what I mean. It's going to be full of more senseless daredevil antics!
Theatrical Release: Oct. 25

Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause
Remember the first "Santa Clause"? Tim Allen is back as Santa and some things have strangely changed after eight years. Played as Scott Calvin, he is starting to lose weight and several other things aren't looking good. He also finds out that his son is on the "naughty" list. Scott has to take a break and replace Santa with a temporary one and things still just don't go right.
Theatrical Release: Nov. 1

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
It's about time for more Harry Potter hoopla, and what better time than this November. In his next adventure, Mr. Potter has to dreadfully spend the summer with his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys. He finds a way to make it back to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and things have gotten very strange there. If you have read the book, you already knew that and more. Lucky you.
Theatrical Release: Nov. 15

Adam Sandler's 8 Crazy Nights
Adam Sandler plays Davey Stone, a 33-year old bully who has gone way too far and has found himself in deep doodoo. His attempt to do community service as a youth basketball league referee seems to be going well, until he meets Whitey Duvall (voice of Sandler) and then it's history! Oh, did I forget to mention this is animated? Yeehaw!
Theatrical Release: Nov. 27

Name: Shaggy
Comments:
I hope one of the Two Towers from the Lord of the Rings falls on Harry Potter's ass.
