Radford's New Coffee Houses: Yummy's and Coffee Mill

Something interesting happened in Radford this summer. We went from having absolutely no coffee shops to having two, almost overnight. The first, The Coffee Mill, opened in May and the second, Yummy's, opened in August.
Let's turn our attention to The Coffee Mill, which serves the standard espresso bar drinks, ranging from latte to cappacino to mochas. In addition, they serve sandwiches during lunch, as well as carry an assortment of baked pastries. Yummy's, much like The Coffee Mill, serves the same, but has a wider selection of food, as well as Smoothies. In addition to sandwiches and pastries, Yummy's serves wraps and pizza.
The atmosphere varies between the two establishments. The Coffee Mill is more like your traditional coffee shop, adorned with paintings from local artists and a variety of books and magazines available. Plus, they host live music and poetry readings. Yummy's is more of a home-like atmosphere, with more natural lighting. Sitting at one of Yummy's tables is a lot like sitting at the kitchen table.
If we had to pick one, we couldn't; we were impressed by both. Your choice of a coffee shop is a personal one--enviroment is the key. If you want something down to earth, then try Yummy's. If you prefer a more traditional coffee shop, then visit The Coffee Mill. Either way, you won't be disappointed.
