Ask The Geek
Kevin Martin | Tech Section Manager

2/15/02

This week in Ask The Geek, the Geek answers what to do when Norton dies, among other things.

Q: Every time I start my computer my Norton Systemworks asks to be reinstalled, even after reinstalling it. What do I do?
A: You need to visit The Symantec Website. and download the symantec cleaner, which will manually uninstall the offending program.

Q: My Palm Pilot will not sync since I installed Office XP and or Windows XP. What do I do now?
A: Go to Palm Computing's Website and download the newest version of Palm Desktop. Yes, you should do this even if you are using Outlook for your data.

Q: My Mac running OS 9 is unstable and crashes a lot. Is there anything I can do about this?
A: Yes. Install OS-X which is a lot more stable. OS-X is based on linux, which has always ran better on an Apple then Apple's own OS.

That's it for this week. Don't forget to send your questions to us at Whim Be sure to put as your subject line "Ask the Geek" so that the Geek gets it! Happy Computing, and I'll see you on the Net!
