What Do You Do When You Are Unhappy With the Apperance of Your Breasts?

What do you do when you are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts? Well you can live with it or do what countless women are doing and have surgery. Whether they are too small, too big, or slung a little too low, medical technology has stepped in to help you. Here are the three ways the medical science can help.

Breast Augmentation: This most famous surgery has been given a boost (no pun intended) to make it less painful and leave smaller and fewer scars. In the traditional method the areola is cut out and the implant, which is made of a silicone shell and filled with saline, is put in through there, the areola is then put back and the patient is stitched up. This method has been known to lead to scarring and loss of sensitivity and inability to breast-feed. The new method involves making a small incision below the breast is made and the empty silicone shell is put in through there. After it is in place the implant is then filled with saline. This procedure is far less painful and has fewer side effects than it's predecessor.

Breast Reduction: Now while this will be shocking to some people, breast sometimes can be just too big. Whether they are disproportionate or just painful, some women just don't want to deal with the extra size. For these women there is breast reduction. The procedure is a simple one. Usually three incisions are made, then the excess breast tissue (fat and skin) is removed and then the breast is sewn back together. Sometimes if necessary the nipple will be moved to create a more natural look.

Breast Lift: Breasts aren't always perky for various reasons. Weight loss, pregnancy, or simple gravity can affect the shape of the breast. To fix this a woman can have a breast lift. The procedure is much like a breast reduction except only excess skin is removed and if necessary the areola is moved. This creates a more natural look.

All these options are available at a board certified plastic surgeon. Please if you plan on any of the procedures, research your doctor carefully, ask around, check his license, and so on. This is surgery and should be carefully looked into before proceeding. Good luck.
