Oscars and Academy Awards on Same Night

Why in the world would the programmers have the Academy Awards and the Oscars on at the same time on the same night? It is
completely idiotic to have 2 awards shows on at the same time. How in the world will I get to see all my favorite stars win and
lose?
When I first heard this was happening I was throwing chairs and cursing up a storm. I don't know how I am going to switch
between channels to see Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington both receive Best Actor in a Leading Role. I hope the people
at CBS and NBC are happy that I won't be able to see Lord of the Rings and In the Bedroom get completely
blown away by the their competitors, A Beautiful Mind and Moulin Rouge. Jennifer Lopez and Sean "Puffy"
Combs won't even be able to sit near each other since they are both up for Best Actor and Actress. I have no idea how the
producers of Harry Potter will fly from L.A. to New York in under 30 minutes and still not even win an award. I am
sure the producers of Black Hawk Down won't have any problem since they have connections with the Army and
Area 51 where they keep all of the alien spaceships.
Although I do hope that Marty Callaghan will win for his documentary film on September 11th, I hope he makes it back here at
RU in time for work so he can read this little article.
The actors of Monsters, Inc. will definitely be glad to win 2 awards. They won't have the problem of flying all around
the U.S. to accept their awards because they are all geeks and will transmit their particles over a T-1 line and then re-establish
the particles into larger than life and crush the competitors. I hope CBS and NBC are happy that I will be flipping through
channels, not being able to watch even one commercial. Maybe next year they will decide to put only one awards show on at
a time. I am definitely going to send this article to both CBS and NBC to express my disgust with the matter. I am just glad
ABC has put on some quality programming like the World's Funniest Videos, with the hilarious and "Best Actor" Mr. Bob
Saget, to take all the viewers from the Academy Awards and The Oscars.
