Dave's Top Ten Teams
Dave Betancourt | Sports Section Manager
Ok, here is week two's installment of Dave's top ten list. For the first
time in the history of the top ten last weeks number one has been completely
knocked off the list. That's what happens when you lose to
the Bengals. So sorry B-more fans, maybe the Ravens can break back in next
week if they upset Denver.
Denver Broncos(2-0): After debuting at number two the Broncos take
over the number one spot after their impressive win in Arizona. Even
without Ed McCaffery they still look great. As always it doesn't matter who
is running the ball because of the excellent play of the offensive line.
That's a good thing since Terrell Davis is likely out for the next 6 weeks.
Brian Griese looks great so far. If they can beat the Ravens next week they
could lay their claim as number one contender as potential champs.
Indianapolis Colts(2-0): Peyton, Edgerrin, Marvin and Co. look flat
out sickening as the Colts O continues to put up crazy points. If the D can
hold up the Colts could challenge the Broncos for the number one spot.
St. Louis Rams(2-0): The offense doesn't look as unstoppable as it has
the past few years but they still execute.
New Orleans Saints(1-0): Looked great in week one. They have a tough
test ahead in playing the Giants at home. A win would definitely keep them
in the top five.
Miami Dolphins(2-0): Won two straight difficult games this year. If
they can beat the Rams next week they might be for real.
Jacksonville Jaguars(2-0): Offense looks like the O of old however
running back Fred Taylor is out for 3 weeks. We'll see what happens.
Philadelphia Eagles(2-0) Great D. McNabb looks great. Staley getting
banged up doesn't help though.
New York Giants(1-1): D looks great, O looks good enough.
Oakland Raiders(1-1): Despite loss to Miami they still look tough.
Need to get more out of their receiving core though.
San Diego Chargers(2-0) Start jumping on the bandwagon.
