Movie Review: Jeepers Creepers
Graphic By: Brandon Faust Brandon Faust | Ritz Section Manager

I know you all are tired of all of those so-called horror movies with four or five actors and actresses straight out of a Gap commercial, right? Right on, brothers and sisters- Jeepers Creepers is nothing like those weak, teenybopper flicks.  Jeepers Creepers is, in fact (okay, maybe in opinion), one the best scary films to hit the big screen in a long while.

Two squabbling siblings Trish (Gina Phillips) and her brother Darry (Justin Long) decide to take the wonderful scenic route on the country back roads on their way home from college.  As they pass an old church, they spot a disturbing figure tossing a huge, bloody body bag into a large drainpipe. Darry's unbearable curiosity forces the two kids to turn around and look to see what it all was.  This, of course, was a big mistake because a series of spine-chilling events follows thereafter!

Graphic By: Brandon Faust Darry and Trish discover that this devil-like creature is searching for people with certain characteristics that he desires.  He has found just about everything he wants except something he needs from one of them!

The suspense throughout this movie is certainly enduring and bound to keep you on the edge of your uncomfortably cushioned theater seat.  The brilliant director (and apparent past-time weirdo,) Victor Salva, who possesses a cinematic style throughout the movie that includes those magical ingredients for a potentially classic horror picture. I have said this many times before, and I must once again spread the gospel.  Don't let the title of the movie fool you!  Go see this movie.

Sorry dude, thought it was one of hte worst movies I've ever seen. Felt like the whole movie was the intro killing scene in most scary movies. Nothing happened, until the very end (remind you of Blair Witch?) and even that kinda killed it for me. Though I dug the little Siouxsie and the Banshees clip they used in the movie.
