Live in Chicago is the Dave Matthews Band’s fourth live album since 1999, and
in my opinion it is the best one released so far. I honestly can’t stop
listening to this CD; it is that good. The band stays true to its original
recordings but adds a twist with guest bass player Victor Lemonte Wooten and
the band’s old friend Tim Reynolds jamming on the electric guitar. Anyone who
has ever heard #41 live will really appreciate this version; it’s the best one
I have ever heard.
The set list includes a lot of hits like Don’t Drink the
Water, What Would You Say, and Crash Into Me, but they also throw in some that
might not be familiar to the average listener, like #40, The Maker, and Christmas Song. I
have been a fan of the Dave Matthews Band for about eight years and have seen the band
live five times, and this CD definitely captures the sound that is the Dave Matthews Band.
