Congratulations! You have bought into the Intel(R) and IBM(TM) pushed internet age. You've bought yourself a Web Cam, but now all you know how to do is take pictures of your room and email them to friends. Why not take that $40 worth of technology, the camera, compressor, filters, and lens, all stuffed into that tiny little ball, and do something nifty? Prostrate yourself online for the world to judge and leer at! You too can be a Web Cam star!
How many systems come with useless peripherals that no one gets around to using? I spent $85 on a scanner that I never use, over $150 on a printer that is slow as crap, and a Web Camara that I never use either. Wait! I use my Web Cam, because it's easy to use! Last week Whim ran an article about Camarades.Com, that offers free web broadcasting to anyone with a camara. If you dont like them, there are several other providers out there. All you have to do is go to your favorite Search Engine, and search for a provider.
I would write more, but there is simply nothing more to it. People are lazy! There is absolutely no reason not to put that silly ball to good use. Talk to your parents, 'significant other,' or, God FORBID!, talk to one of your professors via a video teleconference program and let them know you enjoy their class! Every copy of Windows(R) ships with NetMeeting, which allows you to make video calls over the internet. You have the bandwidth; you have the cute video ball on top of your machine; why are you waiting? Go out and Web Cam!
And for goodnesssakes put some clothes on! No one wants to see that on the internet!
