To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rocky Horror 20th Century Fox released a special DVD version of the film that is absolutely loaded with extras.

If you've never seen the movie, let me brief you on this cult classic: it starts with Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon), two clean-cut young adults who take a road trip to visit a former professor. When they get a flat tire they look for help at the mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a Transylvanian scientist who has discovered how to create life with his latest project, Rocky. Through song and dance the visit to the Frank- N-Furter's mansion is one that Brad and Janet will not easily forget about. It's a twisted combination of horror, sci-fi, B-movies, and rock-and-roll.

The Rocky Horror DVD comes as a set of two disks. The first disk is the feature movie along with special DVD-Rom features. Some of the DVD-Rom features include: a jukebox with songs from the movie, a Rocky Horror screensaver you can load onto your computer, a Rocky Horror time-line, trivia, Mad Libs, cast bios, and access to web sites. You can also read instructions on audience participation and view the movie in an interface that looks like a theater stage.

DVD features include audience participation prompters that tell you when to yell something out or throw things in the air. You can listen to how a live audience participates, and at selected scenes you can actually see performers in front of the screen and watch the audience participate. You can also choose to watch the US or UK versions.

The second disk has even more special features. You can see outtakes, VH1's Behind The Music feature on Rocky Horror, a pop-up video of the song "Hot Patootie" (sung by Meatloaf who plays Eddie), interviews with the cast, and theatrical trailers. You can also sing-a-long to "Toucha Toucha Touch Me" and "Sweet Transvestite". Look through a photo gallery of the making of Rocky Horror, see a misprint ending, and view the alternate ending and deleted musical scenes. You can also see a documentary with commentary from the actors, creators, and even devoted fans.

This is truly one loaded DVD. All the extras keep you entertained for hours after the movie has ended. It's the next best thing to seeing the movie live with performers and a participating audience. All of you Rocky Horror fans should definitely try the DVD, and those of you who have never seen the movie should see it. It's different then anything else out there.
