Vote by Absentee![]() Vote by absentee! The 2000 presidential election is approaching, and many students will be unable to make it home on November 7 to vote in their local district. The answer is absentee balloting. Do you qualify? You bet you do, assuming that you're already registered to vote. Any registered voter that is attending an institution of higher learning (Radford University qualifies) may vote by absentee. It's fun and easy! Absentee ballot applications can be obtained at any public library (not including, interestingly enough, the campus library) or on the Internet at absenteeballot.net. You merely have to print the application, fill it out, and mail it to your home town registrar. Get off your lazy duff! Time waits for no man/woman/beast/child! In Virginia, absentee ballot applications must be received by November 2nd. Deadlines for other states may vary. Creepy politicians! Find out about your fun-loving candidates and make an educated decision. Web sites, such as Presidency 2000 and Issues2000.org, contain detailed profiles of all the presidential candidates. If you're into the dirtier side of politics, the Skeleton Closet is devoted to digging up dirt on these power hungry politicos. If you're still undecided, you can take the interactive SelectSmart quiz which determines the candidate that is best for you based on your political beliefs. The big finish Remember, many of our ancestors have fought and died for this basic right to vote. Please don't waste their efforts. Vote! |

Give us some time. Rome wasn't built in a day, and if you are who I think you are, Cheese and Wine, you would come to the meetings if you are so concerned. :)
