Each month it seems that an emerging star rises to the top of the music charts, becomes a one-hit wonder, then falls back to Earth with dignity (and a few million dollars). For a while, I was so sick of hearing the same old thing, I decided to forget about listening to the radio. And then, it came.
With pounding bass and an incredible beat, Eiffel 65 entered my ears like a breath of fresh air with their new album "Europop." The smooth techno sound was catchy, slightly irritating, but tantalizing enough to whet my appetite for more. Their highly addictive song, Blue (da ba de) hit the top 40 charts sometime last month, and, since that point, I can not get away from hearing it in cars, or piped out of residence halls when I pass for class. The song highly irritates me.
For some sick reason, I continued listening to the album. That is when I got hooked. Once "Blue" is done, the album takes a spin in a whole different direction, toying with wavy, electric sounds and warbly synthetic effects. The lyrics often do not make much sense, but the sound is so crisp and clean that it makes it worth a listen. And listen is exactly what you will do, for once "Blue" ends, there is nothing stopping Eiffel 65 from becoming your favorite. Almost every song is upbeat, enthusiastic, and, to coin a Dick Clark phrase, "dance-able."
Eiffel 65's "Europop" is truly worth a listen. You'll find that even the annoyance of "Blue" is not enough to keep this album down. Eiffel 65 is going places. So "Move your Body" to the nearest store and grab a copy. Anyone who misses out on this one is living in a bubble.

I think that Eiffel 65 is a brilliant group. Some say that their music has no meaning whatsoever, but I can hear the hidden messages. Other fans can hear it as well, and the melodies are breath taking. These beautiful melodies provided by Maurizio, the meaningful lyrics provided by Jeffrey Jey, and the DJ'd 90's twist provided by Gabry Ponte. Who could ask for anything more?
I give it as many stars possible.

"The past is all that's gone, the future is yet to come". These powerful words are only a sample of singer/producer Gianfranco Randone's brilliance. Eiffel 65's talent and broad outlook are displayed throughout the album. The continuity and quality of Eiffel 65's clean cut and catchy lyrics make their music appropriate for all ages. Randone (Also known as Jeffrey Jey) has an incredible apptitude for delighting the senses with his upbeat and intelligent theme filled songs. Buy the album, it's truly a delight!

Brian, when I first heard these guys in your car I was genuinely impressed. I am positive that every club and discotheque in the nation has got "Europop" spinning. Their sound is indeed fresh, and this is coming from a guy whose idea of a new CD is U2's "Achtung Baby" (1991). Eiffel 65 give me some real hope for music today.
