Center.
The writing center offers assistance in all forms of writing from essays
to plays to resumes. The staff consists of undergraduate and graduate
students as well as volunteers who are graduate teaching fellows in the
English Department. The tutors are friendly, open and willing to help
you with all of your writing needs.
A typical visit to the writing center lasts 45 minutes. Students are
greeted by a tutor and receive personal, one-on-one assistance. The
tutor reads through the paper discussing it with the student, offering
tips and ideas.
Although not necessary, appointments can be made by calling 831-6035 or
stopping by the writing center located in 101C Muse Hall. You can also
visit their site on the web at www.runet.edu/~write Walk-ins are
accepted on a first-come first-serve basis, giving appointments

Other than tutoring, the writing center also offers in and out of class
workshops. In class workshops are offered to introduce students to the
writing center in 5 or 15 minute programs or cover specific needs as
requested by teachers. Out of class workshops are open to anyone and
are scheduled for this semester as follows:

10 - Writing coherent and effective paragraphs
17 - Dealing with punctuation; evaluating computer resources
March
3 - Cohesion and fluidity in sentences
17 - APA style citations
24 - MLA style citations
31 - Revising and editing research papers
April
7 - Taking essay exams
