SGA News

SGA will be meeting with the Board of Visitors this Wednesday and Thursday.

Men's basketball game at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17th at the Dedmon Center. SGA and Kappa Delta Rho fraternity will be sponsoring an Express Shuttle from the Young Hall bus stop directly to and from the Dedmon Center. The Express Shuttle will begin at 6:30 and run until the Dedmon Center is cleared out after the game. See you all there!

The Athletics Promotion Council of SGA will have a bon fire celebrating RU's athletic achievements Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 on Moffett Lawn.

Winter Weekend will be February 19-20. The weekend will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. with snow court voting in Heth Plaza until 2:00 p.m. That evening from 8:00 p.m. until midnight will be the first annual Ring Presentation and Celebration in Muse Banquet Hall. Dress for this event is semi-formal. See table tents and posters for more information. Saturday the 20th at 3:30 p.m. the men's basketball game vs. Liberty will be televised. Voting for snow king and queen will take place from 3:15 until the first half of the men's game. At half time the snow court will be recognized. Immediately following the men's game, the snow court will be presented again and the king and queen will be crowned. Then the Winter Air Bands competition will take place at the Riverside entrance of the Dedmon Center. Refreshments will be provided as well as presenting the Winter Air Bands Cup for first place. These festivities will be followed by the women's basketball game versus Liberty at 7 p.m., also at the Dedmon Center. The RU women's team is ranked #2 in our conference and Liberty is ranked #1. Don't miss the game!

Sunday February 21 in Pipers from 4-6 p.m. the Diversity Promotions Committee of SGA will co-host an open reception for Joyce Howse, the newly appointed Social Equity Officer.

Filing for upcoming SGA elections is currently going on. Candidates have until Friday, March 5th at 12 p.m. to file. Filing can be done in the SGA office room 203 Heth or at the Dean of Students Office in Walker Hall.

An information meeting for students interested in filing for office will be held Wednesday, February 24th at 6:30 in the SGA Conference room, located in Heth on the Second floor.

Students can "Meet the Candidates" Monday, March 22 at 6 p.m. in the SGA Conference Room.

The SGA elections will be held Wednesday March 24 from 9:30 till 3 p.m and 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Heth Plaza.
