Help me! I am so frazzled. I have financial, academic, and romantic crises all at once. It seems like I can't breathe sometimes. I am so busy trying to be successful, that I've forgotten what I'm living for. Sometimes, I think it might be better just to quit everything all together. My family puts out so much pressure on me to succeed, but I can't even live up to my own expectations, let alone theirs. I just can't take it anymore. I need help before I do something drastic.
Sincerely,
Wit's End
Dear Wit's End,
I have two very valuable words for you: time management. Organization can help immensly. A key thing is trying not to be so high strung. Don't sweat the small stuff. Trust a girl speaking from
experience. A crisis needs to be handled one step at a time and one day at a time; kind of a divide and conquer point of view. Everything works out the way it is meant to. A miraculous thing for me to do is give it up to my higher power (God as you understand God to be) and trust that my God will never give me more than I can handle.
Life is crazy and frantic, and your situations can get the
better of you, or you can get the better of them. It is all in your attitude and the way you choose to handle yourself. Perhaps a well thought out schedule and a cut back on over-committing will give you that room you need to breathe.
Never give up on everything all-together because the roughest roads lead to the highest grounds. Hellen Keller once said "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow."
