I am so sick of people thinking they can get away with junk mailings, junk spammings, and chain letters. For those of you who don't know about ICQ, it is an amazing Internet application, which allows you to chat with anyone else regardless of the online service they use. ICQ is a technological breakthrough. The number of ICQ users has skyrocketed from it's birth to the present, now totalling over eight million users. Mass-marketers are now taking advantage of this new technological medium, and it is really pissing me off.

I am so sick and tired of people using e-mail and ICQs to spread chain mails just for their own benefit. They are deceptive (for some), immature, and most of all, a waste of my precious time.

"Help little Johnny in the hospital. All you have to do is send this to four of your friends."

"The red cross is giving five minutes in a dialysis machine for each mail they receive. Tell your friends."

"You have a virus in your computer. It will eat your hard drive. Tell five of your closest friends."

"In a week, ICQ will be billing you for your usage. Tell your friends to protest by e-mailing them."

BS. That's all I have to say. No company would release information about their strategy via word-of-mouth, no hospital wants 400,000 e-mails trying to save a child who does not exist. No virus can be sent over messages unless it is downloaded. Every one of those have been sent to me on more than three occasions each. They are all as ridiculous as they are bogus. I'm tired of this stuff.
