Go for a ride with Rocket Jockey

By James Andrews

Rocket Jockey is a mix between a high-speed racing game and Quake, and comes out with a pretty good mix between the two.

The players drive around on a motorcycle-like vehicle that looks like one of those speeders that they used in Return of the Jedi. There are also three styles of gameplay: racing, soccer-like ball game, and war, where it is a fight-to-the-finish demolition derby. When you fall off of your bike is when the fun begins- the referee is not on your side in the ballgame, and if you fall off, your bike will kick you up against the wall to hinder your movement.

Don't worry you also do not get penalized for going after them when you get back on your bike. When you get this game, which I have seen for ten bucks at Software etc. you will want to go to the manufacture's web site at www.segasoft.com and download the network patch, even if you do not want to play it over network. The patch has enhancements that improve the graphics on the game and the speed of the game.

The only thing that I did not like about the game is that it does not give you a chance to fight back when you are on the ground, against the referees or against the other players. All you can do is run, jump, and dive.

This game is an excellent value and a very fun game.
