A large crowd was on hand at the Bonnie for the ThinkFast Game Show competition, the first event in the week-long celebration of Homecoming 2009. Wednesday, Feb 25 The Highlanders, who already have clinched the regular season Big South men's basketball championship, added to their win total Wednesday night with an 89-84 win over High Point. Festivities at the game included a special presentation to Dean of Students Trae Cotton and recognition of the 2008 Big South champion men's tennis team and its No. 1 player Martin Sayers. Feb. 24-26 Homecoming 09 Photos. Coming Thursday, February 26 Entrepreneur Express, free business workshops featuring interactive discussions, led off events for Thursday. Doug Call '86, president of Virginia Prosthetics, was the special guest speaker. Friday, February 27 Friday Homecoming Events at RU featured Alumni Teaching Day, with alumni serving as guest lecturers in classes on campus; an Alumni Executive Council Meeting; a Pep Rally on campus; Alumni Women’s and Men's Basketball Games at the Dedmon Center; the annual NPHC Step Show, and an Alumni and Friends Texas Hold-em Tournament and Social. Saturday, February 28 A Presidential Brunch kicked off Saturday's list of Homecoming activities, which included an RU Ambassador Reunion & Lunch, the RU Lady Highlanders vs. Presbyterian in the afternoon, a tailgate party before the men's basketball game later that night against Liberty, and a post-game party with dinner and band later that night.
