RU Alumni Association Events, Summer 2005

The photos below are from two events sponsored or supported by the Alumni Association and its chapters during the summer of 2005.

The top row of photos were taken at a joint RU / VT send off picnic on Sunday, August 7, hosted by RU Rockbridge County chapter leader Ann Jones and VT Rockbridge chapter leader Lynn Jones.

Two new RU students, Kara Gordon and Ashley Akers, and their families attended the event. Ann Jones '66 led a presentation to familiarize the students with RU's campus.  Elizabeth McDonald '40 added remarks about her days as a Radford student.  David Horton '90, Director of Alumni Affairs, concluded the presentation with how the campus has evolved into what it is today. A cookout followed and the students had the opportunity to ask other questions about RU.  Other alums who joined in the festivities were Emily Lane '03, Betty Jo Garrett '86, Pat Hepler '66, and Juanita Schmidt '63.

The second row of photos was taken at an event hosted by the Alumni Association's Roanoke Chapter Saturday, July 30. Area alumni were treated to lunch at Corned Beef & Company and then to a special performance of "Grease" at Mill Mountain Theatre.
