Appalachian Events Committee
The Appalachian Events Committee (AEC) is made up of Radford University students, faculty, and staff members who are interested in the Appalachian region, its history, culture, and preservation. Radford University is located in an area rich with the heritage, customs, folklore and history of Appalachia and its people. The AEC welcomes those who are already familiar with Appalachia, as well as those who want to learn more about the region in which they are now living. Each year the Appalachian Events Committee sponsors a number of events on campus that are open to the RU community as well as to the general public. AEC members also attend seminars, concerts, and conventions that feature Appalachia and its people. e-mail

Black Awareness Programming Board
The Black Awareness Programming Board's purpose is to stimulate interest and heighten awareness of the contributions of the African American population. Radford University's Black Awareness Programming Board (BAP Board) sponsors cultural, educational, social and entertainment activities. These activities are offered to students at either a reduced rate or free of charge. Supported through Student Activity Fees and administered entirely by students, the Black Awareness Programming Board is open to all Radford University students. CAB also sponsors activities that supplement and compliment programs sponsored by other organizations of the university. The Campus Activities Board is most recognized on campus for sponsoring weekly movies, late night events, lecturers, novelty programs and performers, national recording artists and comedians, themed socials, and much more! Similar to BAP, CAB's events are also open to all Radford University students, supported by Student Activities Fees and administered entirely by students. e-mail
