LOW-RISK ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION GUIDELINES

 

ZERO       It’s always OK not to drink alcohol. It’s especially important NOT to drink if

you are driving or operating machinery, under 21, pregnant, chemically

dependent, or taking other medications

 

ONE         One drink (defined as a standard drink of beer, wine, wine cooler, liquor or

other beverages containing approximately one-half ounce of alcohol) per

Hour sets the pace for moderate drinking.

 

THREE    No more than three drinks per day, and never daily. (It’s important to

                        recognize that for some people three drinks is not safe.)
