Our History
April 2006:
19: Executive Board grows from 1 to 4 as club President Bekah Parker passes the torch to Rachael Lang. Membership grows from 1 to about 30 in a matter of weeks. The club co-sponsors a Diversity Rally.
August 2006:
25: Club Fair: members ask RU students to sign a petition to end women’s suffrage. Sadly, more than 160 – mostly women – do.
September 2006:
27: Talk by Molly McClintock of Equality Virginia on the Re-Affirmation of Marriage Act
27: Table on Heth Plaza: information about sexual assault/domestic violence, register voters, donations for the Radford clothing bank.
October 2006:
9: Film/Discussion: The War Zone invited by SASAE
11: Film/Discussion: Rape Is… invited by SASAE
16: Film/Discussion: The Vagina Monologues for National Coming Out Day (10/11) & Love Your Body Day (10/18)
25: UN Day – food drive for Radford Food Pantry and info table on “Maternal health & Well-Being”
