The instructions for installing Mathematica on your computer are here: http://www.radford.edu/content/it/home/it-support/software/general-software/mathematica.html. A number of assignments for this class will involve Mathematica, which is industry- and grad-school-standard mathematical software. The example Mathematica notebook that I continually update from class. If you click on this you will get a big text barf that's not useful. You need to right-click on this, save it somewhere, and then open it with Mathematica. Here are two nice little programs that lets you turn your sound card into a simple oscilloscope: Zelscope, available at www.zelscope.com and soundcard Oscilloscope at http://www.zeitnitz.de/Christian/scope_en. Note: These have problems with Windows7 notebooks--you might have to run the sound through an "aux" input if your notebook doesn't have a true stereo hardware microphone input. Or you'll have to get a usb-to-stereo input adapter.
