Mission

Statement

By Participating in the RU Safe Zone Program, one agrees to be an ally for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of our community, to confront homophobia and challenge heterosexism, to be a resource for all students, faculty, and staff, to continue your education in GLBT issues, and above all, to be a safe, welcoming, and comfortable place for GLBT people.

Objectives of Safe Zone

 1.  To make it possible to easily identify individuals who are empathetic and informed about GLBT issues who are willing and able to provide support, information, and confidentiality.

2.  To show a concrete example that Radford University supports GLBT people, and is working to educate and raise awareness within the Radford Community.
