Nutrition and Dietetics Major

Collaege of RU students in class

Welcome to Radford University's Nutrition and Dietetics Major website. We hope you enjoy your visit and we hope you will consider Radford University and a major in Nutrition and Dietetics in your plans.

The Nutrition and Dietetics Major offers a close knit environment for students to get to know each other and the faculty. At the present time we have approximately 100 majors. The faculty prides temselves in getting to know the students and are readily available for questions, help and advising outside of class time. Students get to know each other by taking many classes together and often form strong bonds which persist after graduation.

Nutrition and Dietetics is a program in the Department of Exercise, Sport and Health Education within the College of Education and Human Development. The vision of the program is to train health care professionals in nutrition and dietetics.   In doing so, we will address the employment and specific healthcare needs of rural, southwest Virginia, and the Commonwealth.  These individuals will exhibit the highest standards of ethical behaviors and competence.

The mission of the Nutrition and Dietetics Program extends the missions of the University and College, by preparing professionals to serve the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being.  The Nutrition and Dietetics Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in health care and food service agencies, as dietitians, and nutritionists
