President Danny Lynch has been active this offseason, already engaging in prelimary talks with other managers about Radford participating in a round robin tournament in October to open the Fall season. Other scheduling and important dates are currently being worked out. Stay tuned for an updated schedule.

The RU Club Baseball team would like to wish everyone a happy Summer break, and good luck if you are taking Summer I, Summer II, Summer III, or Maymester. Tryouts will be begin within the first few weeks of returning for Fall semester of 2008.
Monte Gardner, the original founder of RU Club Baseball, will also be returning to Radford in the Fall semester, so we are looking forward to him contributing in any way he can for us.

Radford wins series against VCU 2-1. Excellent outing by the Highlanders taking two from VCU in Richmond. Georgetown comes to Radford this weekend for a double header on Sunday in Giles county.

Possible weekly games have been being discussed by officials for both New River Community College Baseball and Radford University Club Baseball. Officials are planning to schedule a game once per week in order to stay sharp during the week and help prepare for weekend games. More information will be posted once our Club President, Danny Lynch, works out a final date and time for these mid-week games.

The RU Club Baseball team will no longer be practicing/playing at Calfee Park, or Riner High School. All future games/practices will be held at the Recreation Center field across from Copper Beach. Come out and show your support!

Hi, fans, and sorry for the long spell between updates. The RU Club Baseball team is just getting things underway for the 2007 Fall season, and the 2008 Spring season. We battled New River this weekend, for our first win on the season (10-3). Excellent effort by the entire team.

Hello, and welcome back for the 2007-08 season of RU Club Baseball. We are looking forward to a fun, and successful season with new additions, as well as more than 15 returners. Tryouts will be held this weekend on Saturday and Sunday at 3:00. Stay tuned for an updated schedule and roster.

The weekend at the University of Richmond this weekend has been cancelled, the the Spring 2007 season has come to an end for Radford Club Baseball, and a long offseason begins as everyone begins their training regimen. You can still check back here for updates on statistics as well as schedule information for the fall season. Thank you to all of the team's fans for your support, and we're looking forward to seeing you in the stands this upcoming fall season.

The Virginia Tech game was made up today at the famous Calfee Park. Despite a tough loss, Radford showed a lot of heart, coming back to score two runs when a shutout was in site for the opposing team. David Taylor had an RBI double, and pitched four strong innings. Derek Bayliss also batted for the first time of his career, going 1-2 with a walk and a bunt single.
Radford is scheduled to play the University of Richmond next weekend. Check back for updates on that series.

JMU visited Radford Club Baseball in a two-game series this past weekend, taking both games in an unfortunate series loss for Radfod. There was minimal offense, as Radford was held to a combined 3 runs, but our defense showed great heart. Veteran Kyle Lumsden pitched for his longest outing of his Radford Club Baseball career, pitching 5 complete innings.

Radford Club Baseball will not be playing against Washington and Lee this weekend, as they do not have enough players due to players heading home for Easter weekend. The games will possibly be made up this upcoming week. Stay tuned for updates.

The Radford Club Baseball team just kicked off it's season, opening against VCU at home. After winning the first game, things fell apart for Radford, losing the second and third games by the slaughter rule.
After losing the opening series against VCU, UVA came to town to challenge the Highlanders. Radford lost another tough series, while still racking up over 15 runs.
Washington and Lee, JMU, Virginia Tech, and the University of Richmond are next, stay tuned for future updates. Stats will be available shortly. |
