Accomplishments and background

I've really tried to make the most of my time at college. This year, I'm Editor-in-Chief of our campus newspaper, The Tartan, and was employed as News Editor the previous year. I'm President of the Student Media Council and am a founding father of the Mu Hexaton chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa. I'm currently Secretary and Public Relations Chair of PSK and have also been fundraising chair. My Freshman and Sophomore year I was Resident Hall Council President in my dorms, and was named Radford Student of the Month in October, 2005. Now, in my senior year, I am a lead designer for The Beehive, Radford University's year magazine, and a design trainer for Exit 109, the campus literary magazine.

Career goals

I suffer from that typical college senior problem -- I'm having a lot of trouble narrowing a job search to one or two fields. I don't think that's neccesarily a problem though. In my time at Radford (and in high school for that matter), I've immersed myself in several different programs, classes and languages. I have a thirst for knowledge, and really want to make a difference in the world. My career goal is to find a job that's different, where I can have fun and be challenged on a daily basis. I am graduating in Spring 2009, and plan to immediately join the workforce or obtain an internship from a prestigeous newspaper. Nothing is too far or too ambitious for me, as I strive to be the best person I can be and see as much of the world as I possibly can.

Who is Matt Vecchio?

Hi guys. I'm a senior at Radford University, located in southwest Virginia, and am a Media Studies-Journalism major. I also opted to pick up a major in Business Management. I am Editor-in-Chief of our campus newspaper, The Tartan, and am looking to start in career in journalism, management, marketing, advertising or whatever else may come my way. I'm open-minded, driven and up for anything!

I love to travel and explore the world, and that will always be an important part of my life. I've been blessed with parents who share my love for traveling, and have been to Europe five times. I plan to spend a month in Greece with friends this upcoming summer.
