Campus Resources:
Gay-Straight Alliance at Radford University -
The GSA's main website and Facebook page. Become a fan to see many important updates on Facebook!
RU Safe Zone -
A program on campus dedicating to educating GLBT allies and providing a resource for all students,
faculty and staff on GLBT issues. If you see a Safe Zone sticker around campus, then the person
who has it has been Safe Zone certified and you should feel free to approach them should you need
to.
RU Center for Diversity and Inclusion - An office on
the RU campus whose mission is to develop multicultural awareness, understanding, and a sense of
belonging among students and the surrounding community.
RU Student Counseling Services - Counseling services
available to all students on the Radford campus.

Local Resources:
Equality Virginia - A statewide, non-partisan
advocacy, outreach and education organization seeking equality for GLBT Virginians.
PFLAG - Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays is an
organization that promotes the health and well-being of GLBT people and their families and friends.

GLBT Roanoke - A resource and hub for the GLBT community
of Roanoke, VA and the surrounding area. Roanoke Equality can also be found here.
Camp Happy Appalachee - A social networking
website designed for the GLBT community of the Appalachian states.

Global Resources:
American Civil Liberties Union - An organization that works
to preserve American's rights and extend the rights of people who have been tradtionally denied their
rights, including the GLBT community.
American Foundation for Equal Rights - AFER is
an organization that is dedicated to protecting and advancing equal rights for every American. They
are responsible for the court gase against California's Proposition 8, the decision of which has
recently been released ruling Proposition 8 as unconstitutional.
Campus Pride - The leading national nonprofit organization
for student leaders and campus groups working to develop resources, programs and services to
support GLBT and ally students on college campuses.
Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network - A national education
organization working to ensure safe schools for all students, regardless of sexual orientation and
gender identity. Two of their events are the Day of Silence
and Ally Week.
GetEQUAL - A recently formed activist organization whose mission
is "to empower the LGBTQ community and our allies to take action to demand full legal and social equality,
and to hold accountable those who stand in the way."
Give A Damn Campaign - An organization encouraging everyone,
especially straight people, to get informed, get involved, and "give a damn" about GLBT equality.
Human Rights Campaign - The largest national GLBT civil rights
organization.
NO H8 Campaign - A photo project and silent protest created
in response to the passing of Proposition 8 in 2008 whose style has been adopted as a general GLBT
movement, especially for the Day of Silence.
Point Foundation - An organization that provides scholarships,
mentorship, leadership training and hope for students of merit who have been marginalized due to sexual
orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
