Biology 423 - General Ecology

Welcome to Biology 423 - General Ecology. As you either know or will know, ecology is the field of biology that encompasses just about everything in the biological hierarchy. It includes the study of individual organisms, populations, species, communities, ecosystems and the biosphere. In addition, we ecologists love to use tools developed by researchers in the lower rungs of the hierarchy, including molecular and cell biology, etc. In this course we will focus our investigations into the basic issues of ecology, which deal with where the organisms are, how abundant they are, and how they interact with each other and the environment. So enjoy the ride.
