The Plumbing/Steamfitting Shop consists of 8 personnel, which includes a Plumber/Steamfitter Supervisor, a Supervisor's Assistant, 3 Plumber/Steamfitters, 2 Plumber/Steamfitter Assistants and a Trades Utility Worker Senior.

The Trades Utility Worker Senior is charged with taking care of all the maintenance requirements of Muse, Tyler and Norwood Halls. One of the Plumber/Steamfitters and an Assistant perform preventative maintenance on pumps, air compressors, air handlers and other machinery throughout the campus. One Plumber/Steamfitter takes care of any emergency calls which come in to Work Control during the course of a work day. The remainder of the Shop is responsible for installing, maintaining and operating pumps, valves, water heaters, water coolers, fire sprinkler systems, plumbing systems, steam systems and storm drain systems.

This Shop is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency repairs. If an emergency occurs during work hours (8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), call Work Control at 831-7800. After normal work hours, contact the Police Department at 831-5500 and they will contact an on-call person.
