My name is Emalie Carroll, but I go by Emma. I was born and raised in Winchester, VA and graduated from John Handley High School with honors in 2006. I am currently a senior at Radford University and will graduate after the Spring '10 term. I am looking for a job in sports broadcasting or working for well-known magazine.

 

In the upcoming Spring, I will be doing an internship with Cumulus Broadcasting located in Radford, VA. At Cumulus Broadcasting, my internship advisor will be Ms. Nicole Willliams, who is a radio personality and the production director for Cumulus Broadcasting. There I will learn to post and make an operation board which is the schedule for live broadcasts at the studio. I will also be training to produce on-air voice tracking and will be leaving with a portfolio.

Cumulus Broadcasting Inc is located in Fairlawn, VA and is a local broadcasting radio station. It is a private company categorized under radio stations and broadcasting companies. Cumulus Broadcasting has an annual revenue of $5 to $10 million and employs a staff of approximately 20 to 49. Cumulus Broadcasting runs local radio stations like 105.3 The Bear and 100.7 Hot 100. They also have an AM station for local news and covering high school games and a live sports talk show. My internship advisor will be Ms. Nicole Williams who is the production director. She will be guiding me through my internship process where I hope to learn the aspects of running a radio station and radio broadcasting.
