Trust your instincts
If an email or email attachment seems suspicious, don't open it even if your anti-virus software indicates the message is clean. Attackers are constantly releasing new viruses, and the anti-virus software might not have the signatures of the latest viruses, worms, Trojan horse, leeches and other forms of malware.

IT Tip
Back up your data.
There will always be a possibility that something could happen to destroy your data. By regularly backing up your data on a CD, a DVD, or network drive, you will reduce the stress and negative consequences that result from losing important information.
