RU SimReady Scenario Package

The RU Clinical Simulation Center (CSC) scenario package is designed to provide schools of nursing (SON) with the tools necessary to implement simulation training. The package is intended to minimize the challenges SON encounter when incorporating simulation into their programs, such as faculty time to develop scenarios and supporting documentation.

RU SimReady Education Components

Faculty Folder

  • Med labels: Medications and/or IV fluids needed for scenario
  • Debriefing Template: Instructor guide to debriefing
  • Instructor/Scenario file: Scenario general information, type of simulator, equipment/props, equipment available in room, medications, diagnostics, available, and instructor tips.
  • Labs: Labs that are not initially on patient chart – on patient monitor
  • Pre-programmed scenario: with extensive use of vocals to enhance realism and standardized event menu to facilitate ease of use by operator.

Student Folder

  • Admission ticket: Student preparation document
  • Pre/post encounter surveys: Pre-encounter completed prior to simulation Post-encounter completed after simulation.

Patient Chart: Place all documents in this folder into patient chart:

  • Physician orders
  • MAR
  • Patient ID sticker
  • Documentation forms, labs…
