Renee Huth, DCE of Radford University DPT Program and Jordan Tucker, ACCE of Jefferson College of Health Science PTA Program presented their poster, Student Physical Therapists and Student Physical Therapist Assistants Collaborate to Change Perceptions about Disability at the Peer-Reviewed Fifth Annual Emswiller Interprofessional Symposium on February 4, 2017. The focus of this year's Symposium was Working Together For Better Health.  Huth and Tucker presented results from a Fall 2016 course learning experience that focused on disabilities. Second year students from RUDPT and JCHS PTA classes participated in the event which included simulations focused on seeing through the eyes of the therapists and the patients with disabilities. Huth and Tucker propose to repeat the study in the Fall of 2017 and present the outcomes at a national conference. This research is supported by a Radford University High Impact Practice and Faculty Development Directors Teaching and Learning Enhancement Grant which they received in the Spring of 2017.
