This concentration prepares nurses for advanced practice in the care of women across the lifespan with an emphasis on the child-bearing phase of the life cycle. Nurses will be qualified to work in home care, hospitals, and clinics.
The Nurse-Midwifery program is offered in collaboration with Shenandoah University. The Nurse-Midwifery program at Shenandoah University is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. Graduates will receive a DNP from Radford University School of Nursing and a Post Graduate Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from Shenandoah University.
Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification exam given by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

Note: Midwifery courses are offered on the Shenandoah University campus for one full intensive week in the fall and spring semesters with the remainder of the curriculum offered online. Students will also be required to attend an on-campus orientation.
