Transportation

Radford University is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by using more green technology for transportation. Here are some of the efforts undertaken:

  • Radford Transit offers free bus rides to faculty, staff and students to places around campus and in the New River Valley.
  • Radford University purchased six battery-electric vehicles during the 2008 summer. By not producing tailpipe emissions, this helps improve the environment and makes them an excellent transportation solution around campus.
  • Ride your bicycle (Campus Bike Map) - there are three bike Fixit Stations throughout campus (the Fixit includes all the tools necessary to perform basic reparis and maintenance).

  • The Enterprise Carshare program is an alternative to car ownership. Students over the age of 18 can rent a vehicle for short trips for as low as $9/hour.
