CALL FOR PRESENTATION PROPOSALS FOR THE 2012 CONFERENCE
The Ignite planning committee is seeking proposals from faculty, staff members, and students for educational sessions during the conference. The Ignite Leadership Conference is based on the idea of student learning outcomes. With this in mind, the committee will prioritize session selection for faculty/staff with co-presenting students first. The committee hopes all sessions will have a faculty/staff member with a co-presenting student. Sessions will be approximately 40 minutes long. We encourage proposals dealing with practical skills necessary for good leadership.
Some suggested topics include:
- How to run a meeting
- Team building
- Types of leadership
- Building a budget
- Ethics
- Motivation
- Goal setting
- Fundraising
- Icebreakers
- Offering constructive criticism
- Parliamentary Procedure/Robert’s Rules of Order
- Negotiation Skills
- Communication Etiquette
- Event Planning
- Time Management
The planning committee welcomes you to apply to present on one of these topics, or any other that would benefit new and potential student leaders. Additionally, if you are willing to present your topic at multiple sessions please indicate that on the sign up link.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR PRESENTATION PROPOSAL HERE. Paper submissions can be picked up/dropped off at SOAR (Student Organization Assistance and Resources) in room 235 of the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center.
All submissions (paper and electronic) are due no later than Friday, September 28, 2012 at 3PM.
