Before arriving to campus
- Review the campus map and parking map [PDF]
- Review the Moving In information
- Pack water and snacks - especially if it will be a hot and humid day
- Update your emergency contact information by logging into MyRU
- If you live in Muse Hall, double check your floor's designated move-in time [PDF]
When you arrive on campus
- Park in your designated parking area
- Report to the check-in table in your residence hall. It's usually outside of the front door or inside the lobby.
- Have a photo ID ready.
At your hall's check-in table
- At this point, you will be given a room condition form to take to your room to review. The RA will have already completed the form. Make sure to add any and all damages to the form and then sign and return it. You will be charged for any damages to the room or furniture when you move out if those damages are not listed on the form, so be thorough before turning it back in.
- You will be issued your room keys and a planner which includes Radford University's Standards of Student Conduct.
As you are moving into your room
- Remember, a lot of other people will be moving in too, so take yoru time and be patient
- If you need assistance, Housing and Residential Life staff will be available throughout the building. Look for the red polo shirts.
- Take trash and recyclables outside to the designated collection points
- Report any issues you may be having with cable, electrical outlets, or logging into the computer network to the check-in desk. The responsible departments will have crews traveling around the halls to address issues throughout the day.
After you have moved in
- Take trash and recyclables outside to the designated collection points
- If you need to do some shopping, stop by the check-in tables for assistance and directions to local businesses, restaurants, and gas stations.
- If you haven't met your RA yet, take a moment to introduce yourself to him or her
