The department of student activities offers a wide variety of employment opportunities for students. In addition to providing a source of income, these positions further the mission of the department by encouraging out-of-the-classroom learning while exposing students to a taste of post-graduate professional life.
Our student employees are vital to the daily operation of our department. Without competent people in these positions, we would not be able to offer all our great programs and services to the campus community.

Lead and direct safe aerobics classes for students.
Ken Bondurant Auditorium Stage Technicians
Provide coverage and technical services for events in Bondurant Auditorium and other venues. Assist production managers in all aspects of theatre and facility management. Help with load in, strike and event management for major shows and concerts.
Climbing Wall Manager
Oversee operation of bouldering wall. Develop work schedules for student volunteers, monitor safety concerns, provide a safe environment for bouldering (routes, holds, etc.) and perform other duties as assigned.
Hurlburt Student Center Game Room Attendants
Assist with the overall management of the Game Room. Greet customers, oversee cash transactions and daily deposits, monitor bowling and billiard areas to insure policies and procedures are being adhered.
Hurlburt Student Center Auditorium Media Technicians
Responsible for providing technical support for events occurring in the auditorium and other Department of Student Activities venues. Operate video projector and sound board, set up microphones, podiums, speakers and other equipment. Assist with venue management.
Information Office Assistants
Provides customer service to patrons. Disseminates information to customers, oversees ticket sells, lap top check out, lost and found and assists with key control. Communicates with the community by telephone and in person; and acts as the front line person for requests from facility users.
Intramural Sports Official
Administer the rules of games and events and ensure the safety of all participants invovled in the activity.
Intramural Sports Scorekeeper
Keep score for all Intramural games and register all participants prior to the start of contests, including checking RU IDs.
Intramural Sports Supervisor
Oversee the onsite operation of all Intramural Sports activities, including the supervision of all teams, officials, and scorekeepers. Prevent and treat minor injuries. Manage sports equipment and playing sites.
By working with clubs/organizations and student leaders on campus, Leadership Consultants are stationed in Student Organization Assistance and Resources (SOAR) in Hulburt Room 235. They help with the overall functioning of SOAR, provide customer services and fulfill general leadership information request for SOAR patrons, and complete various special projects to ensure smooth SOAR operations.
Main Office Assistants
Provide administrative support to professional staff in the director’s office suite. Oversee main office receptionist area, greet visitors, supply information, answer phones, assist with projects and sort mail.
Assists with the day to day operations of the Hurlburt Student Center and Heth Hall. Facilitates events, ensures customer needs are met and room set ups are timely. Monitors facilities, reports safety and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel. Responsible for securing venues at closing.
Student Accounts Assistants
Assist Accounts Managers with processing invoices, purchasing requests, and maintaining accounting records.
RU Outdoors Rental Office Manager
Supervise volunteer staff, maintain rental contracts, collect rental and late fees, repair gear, and perform other duties as assigned.
