The Scholar-Citizen Symposium is a forum for students and faculty engaged in civic-minded research and scholarship to add to their academic resumes through professional presentation and showcasing of their work. Emulating the classical forum as a meeting or medium where ideas and views on issues of public interest can be exchanged, the symposium provides an opportunity for those engaged in civic learning initiatives, broadly defined, to come together for a celebration and presentation of their work.
Beginning in fall of 2014, the Symposium has occurred each semester. The Fall Symposium features workshops as well as presentations, a poster competition, and ePortfolio Showcase. The Spring Symposium occurrs in conjunction with the Student Engagement Forum and showcases undergraduate research and students in advanced courses integrating a community-based learning component.
The Spring 2017 Symposium is scheduled for April 19th from 12:30-6:00 p.m. in Heth 14.
