The RU Express ID card is the official identification card for Radford University. It is used for access to meal plans, to make purchases from vending and snack machines, for access to laundry facilities, as payment for printing in computer labs and also serves as a building key for all residence halls and several academic areas. Spring 2018 Meal Plans

Resident Students

If you will be housed on campus, your meal plan is automatically charged to your student account, along with tuition, fees and your room charge. You are classifed as a "resident" student and may choose one of three available meal plans--the 19 meal plan, the 15 meal plan and the flex plan.  The FLEX plan is the default plan for all resident students.  Your meal plan for Spring 2018 will remain the same as your current plan unless you initiate a change.  Meal plan changes may be initiated online beginning December 12, 2017.  Simply log in to the MyRU Portal, choose the Finances icon, and then the "On Campus Meal Plan Change" link.  PLEASE NOTE--This link will not be available until December 12.

Commuter Students

If you will live off campus or in a university owned/leased apartment, you are considered to be a commuter.  Commuter students may choose between six available meal plans:

  • 19 meal plan
  • 15 meal plan
  • flex plan
  • flex junior plan
  • 65 meal plan
  • 90 meal plan

Meal plans may be purchased online or through the RU Express office, either by phone or in person. Forms of payments may include Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Cash and checks are accepted in the RU Express office ONLY. Complete descriptions of the meal plans are available online.

If the student or parent is enrolled in the QuikPay payment plan, the cost of a meal plan may be budgeted in, along with tuition and fees.  Students purchasing an off campus meal plan with excess financial aid should complete the "Off Campus Meal Plan Application" and mark "apply excess financial aid" as the payment type.  

Changes made to any meal plan, resident or commuter, may incur a $20 administrative fee if initiated starting the first day of classes.
