Research / Scientific Inquiry IV is the final course in the Research Scientific Inquiry sequence. Students will complete their capstone research project through the data analysis, results, and conclusion phases of their project.


Detailed Description of Course

Research / Scientific Inquiry IV is the final course in the Research Scientific Inquiry sequence. Students will complete their capstone research project through the data analysis, results, and conclusion phases of their project. Students will prepare a research product for presentation and publication. Each student is responsible for a scholarly product and must adhere to project deadlines. It is expected that each research project will be suitable for publication.
    

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Course content may be carried out in 2 to 3 member student groups. Groups will work closely with a Research Committee in the development, writing, and presentation of a capstone research project.


Goals and Objectives of this Course

Will require students to:

1) Present the rationale and methodology of a research project; 2) Accurately report research results; 3) Discuss and defend results of research results for use in the practice of physical therapy; 4) Prepare a research product that is suitable for publication; 5) Present finished research product on Research Day; 6) Critique peers’ research presentations


Assessment Measures

May include but are not limited to:

Submission of a complete capstone research project that must be approved by a majority of the student’s research committee
