ANSC 498: Independent Study

Note(s): No more than a total of twelve hours credit from ANSC 493, ANSC 498, and ANSC 499 may be counted toward the 38 hours for the anthropological sciences major.

 

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Specific course requirements are negotiated between the faculty advisor and the student. Possibilities include library research on a specific topic, an "internship," and original research project, etc. The course must be approved by the Department Curriculum Committee and Chairperson prior to the deadline for adding courses in the term in which the study is undertaken.

Goals and Objectives of the Course

Students will investigate specific problems or areas of interest under the direction of a faculty advisor.


Assessment Measures

Assessment measures are dependent upon the nature of the study. (See "C" above.)


Other Course Information

Students taking this course for graduate credit will be expected to do graduate-level work. The specific expectations will be determined by the nature of the independent study.
