FAQs

Q: When do I have to pay for the trip or rental?

A: Payment for a trip or rental is due upon registration or reservation.

Q: Can non-Radford students rent equipment?

A: No. At this time equipment rental is reserved for current Radford students and staff.  A valid RUID must be presented when renting equipment.

Q: Can I take a friend that does not attend RU with me on a trip?

A: Yes you can. Non-RU students are permitted to participate on Outdoor Program trips. However, they must be at least 18 years old, and they are not able to register for the trip until two weeks prior to the registration deadline.

Q: Do I need any experience to participate?

A: No. All of our trips are designed to accommodate beginner to intermediate skill levels.

Q: Can I use my own equipment?

A: Yes and no. It truly depends on the nature of our trip and the condition of your equipment. Please ask the trip leader during the pre-trip meeting if you will be able to use your own equipment.

Q: Do you accommodate individuals with dietary restrictions?

A: We do our best to design meals around your dietary restrictions. You will just have to let us know when you register for the trip what those restrictions are so we can plan ahead.  There is spot on the medical release form for you to detail this information.

Q: Do your trip leaders have any medical training?

A: Yes. All of our trip leaders are certified Wilderness First Responders or higher.
